We are in the middle of a war at school. A lemonade war! Students were encouraged to form teams and work together on a lemonade stand. Today they set up in the hallways and were judged by their peers on the lemonade stand and the taste and appearance of their lemonade.
Are you a good business person? Play Lemonade Stand and test your business skills. Watch the weather, make a recipe, and see how much profit you can make from selling your lemonade.
Sometimes life gets hectic. We know! Here a YouTube playlist of all the chapters of The Lemonade War, just in case you can't squeeze in time for the whole family to sit down and read the book.
Most of the chapters are read in English and in Spanish (missing chapter 6 and 14 in Spanish).
We hope that you will join us in our new One School, One Book family reading experience. The new book is The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies and we think it will be fun for the whole family. Check back here soon for some exciting activities that you can participate in while your family enjoys reading.
Write a skit about Humphrey. You can do
something from the story or make up your won. Get your friends and family to
act out the skit. Upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, or UStream and share the URL here.
Have everyone in your family tell a time they
helped a friend.
What do you think Og would have said about his
adventure?
Ask family members what they did during their
summer break when they were kids.
Make a list of things you will do this summer.
If you do them write about it in your journal.
Humphrey and Og didn’t know where they were
going and Humphrey used the noises to try to figure it out. See if family member
will take you on a mystery trip. Try to figure out where you are by using your
senses. No peeking. Write about your adventure.
